Disciple Making is Personal.
  • Jesus says “Come and See” and “Follow Me” (John 1). This is an invitation to the disciples to share life with him, and to watch and imitate him.
  • Paul followed Jesus, sharing his life with others (1 Thess 2:8) and inviting them to imitate him as he imitated Christ (1 Cor 11:1).
  • We are to do the same.

The heart of disciple making is someone one step further along in their faith journey sharing what they know about how to get there.

Disciple Making is about Multiplication.
The disciple making process is geared towards multiplication as we invite others in to share life and imitate us as we imitate Christ.

A key mark of spiritual maturity is inviting people into the discipleship process. Spiritual maturity is not marked by knowledge or position, but by multiplication.

'Disciples making disciples is the only way Jesus gave to grow the church in the UK.'
Discipleship is a personal process that leads to multiplication that can result in a movement.

We believe that Jesus modelled for us a way of doing ministry that resulted in generations of disciples making disciples and we want to follow that. Below are some value statements that hopefully bring into focus what disciple making looks like.
Disciple Making is a Process.
Disciple making is an intentional series of steps or actions towards an end goal. The end goal of the disciple making process is to be ‘mature in Christ’ (Col 1:28). Like a child’s journey to physical maturity: ‘discipleship’ is the process -  the growing - not the end result.
